A GGP delegation comprised of Anne Gauthier, Olga Grünwald and Vytenis Juozas Deimantas contributed to the regional ICPD30 conference titled 'Population and Development: Ensuring Rights and Choices'. This conference took place in Geneva, Switzerland on October 19-20 and was organised by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
The GGP had been invited to organise a side event as part of the official conference program. During this well-attended event the GGP delegation showcased how the Generations and Gender Programme contributes to the goals of the ICPD30. Through its main data product, the Generations and Gender Survey (GGS), the GGP makes a considerable contribution to addressing demographic challenges in the UNECE region, for instance by informing policy making on the most pressing thematic issues that need targeting.

More than 200 delegates from 56 member states in the UNECE region participated in the plenary sessions of the ICPD30.
During the plenary sessions, the GGP was mentioned several times as an example of a reliable data source to identify emerging demographic trends and priorities for the ICPD.
