In collaboration with the Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS), the GGP is currently trying to find micro-level data and documentation for the World Fertility Survey of developed countries. The World Fertility Survey was conducted in the 1970s and 1980s, however, for the majority of developed countries, the data are not accessible for researchers. Our goal is to locate these data and, where possible, archive the data at DANS and release them via GGP.

We are happy to announce that, with the help of our partners and colleagues, we have been able to locate micro-data of the following nine countries: Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Hungary, Israel, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, the UK and the US. More information about these datasets will be added to our website in the coming months.

We would be very thankful for any suggestions on finding the micro-data of the following 13 countries* :

Belgium: NEGO III (1975-1976)
Bulgaria: Bulgaria World Fertility Survey (1976)
Czechoslovakia: The Czechoslovak Fertility Survey (1977)
Italy: INF-1: The first national survey on fertility (1979)
Japan: The Japan national fertility survey (1974)
Poland: Poland World Fertility Survey (1977)
Romania: The Romania Survey (1978)
Spain: The National Fertility Survey (1977)
Switzerland: ? (1980)
Yugoslavia: ? (1976)
