In June 2018, the Generations and Gender Programme (GGP), NIDI-KNAW, and the University of Groningen organized an expert meeting titled The Rush of Hour of Life (Het Spitsuur van het Leven). The event explored how families experience peak life pressures, gender differences in these experiences, and long-term implications of the "spitsuurgezin" phenomenon. Representatives from the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment – later responsible for preparing the 2019–2022 Kennisagenda (Knowledge Agenda) – took part in the discussions.
