On 1–2 December 2021, high-level government representatives, leaders, and experts from across Europe and Central Asia gathered onsite and online for the ministerial conference “Shaping Europe’s Demographic Future” to discuss pathways for societies to thrive in the face of rapid demographic change. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
As part of this conference, the Demographic Resilience Expo was held entirely virtually. The Generations and Gender Programme (GGP) was showcased through a dedicated booth, where visitors could access introductory videos and documents about the GGP, learn how to launch the Generations and Gender Survey (GGS) in their own country, and explore impact stories from existing GGP case studies.
The booth also provided a space for direct exchange: visitors were able to chat live with representatives from the GGP central hub, making the programme’s expertise and resources accessible to policymakers and stakeholders across the region.
