Findings from the Generations and Gender Programme (GGP) have been incorporated into Japanese government white papers addressing children, ageing, and fertility. These analyses provided valuable international comparative perspectives on family life and demographic change.
GGP research has also drawn significant political attention, reportedly influencing Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s 2023 policy speech on demographic renewal and shaping new measures aimed at addressing low birth rates. This demonstrates the growing relevance of GGP evidence in Japan’s public debate on demographic sustainability.
