In its long-term development framework “Vision for Lithuania’s Future – Lithuania 2050”, the Lithuanian government has identified the Generations and Gender Survey (GGS) as an essential data source for assessing and evaluating demographic and social trends.
Several key performance indicators (KPIs) of the strategy are directly based on GGS:
- Fertility: desired number of children,
- Gender roles in the family index,
- Index of perceived conditions for having children,
- Migration intentions.
By embedding GGS indicators into its official monitoring system, Lithuania ensures that national progress is measured using robust, internationally comparable evidence on family life, fertility, and demographic change.
